Join Attorney Chelsea Strautman at the Columbia County Law Library to discuss current immigration issues in America. Chelsea will answer general questions about immigration, but will not be facilitating individual consultations or offering legal advice.
In June 2018, Chelsea Strautman, Esq., joined a federal lawsuit with the ACLU to gain access to 120+ immigrants, unconstitutionally detained in an Oregon federal prison. On Sept. 26, she will visit CSUCI to share reflections about her work advocating for immigrants and shed light on the ICE Zero Tolerance policy.
Kathleen Klompien, Ph.D., has been teaching incarcerated youth in Ventura County and she recently worked to help one of her students get released from Immigration Customs Enforcement and will discuss DREAMers' rights.
Examine the challenges and strategies, rights and resources for undocumented citizens. Join the discussion! Refreshments will be provided.
TOGETHER WE BELONG is a fundraiser that will support the local legal and activist work in defending and protecting asylum seekers detained in federal prison in Sheridan Oregon.
our fundraising target is $5,000 and we are asking for a $25 ticket donation (please feel free to give more!!) to help us toward this goal (we will get a 200% match by Nike for any donation made).
we are excited to hear from two different mama game changers on how they are approaching social justice and the immigrant crisis.
Chelsea Strautman is a single mother, creative entrepreneur and social justice advocate. Today, she runs her own law firm, focusing on immigrant and human rights.
